For four years, we navigated the Canadian immigration system and dealt with work permits, labour market opinions, stress and uncertainty. When Canada Day rolled around last year, it seemed apt to finally submit Gunther's Canadian Permanent Resident application. On July 1, 2013, we began the final waiting game on his route to permanent residency.
Several (long) months later, we received confirmation that his application had been approved and we proceeded to the nearest border so he could officially "land" in Canada.
Today marked a significant milestone in Gunther's expat journey, as he celebrated his first Canada Day as an official Canadian Permanent Resident! Next step: Citizenship (ie: more paperwork).
Happy Canada Day! // Joyeuse Fête du Canada!
